I am so excited to collaborate with Zvelle once again for today’s blog post to take you to work with me! Zvelle is one of my favorite shoe lines made by #girlbosses for #girlbosses, and were recently featured in Forbes. Zvelle inspires and empowers women worldwide and their shoes are truly one-of-a-kind.
To begin, I am on the go all the time, and no two days are the same. All the more reason as to why my shoes must be both fabulous and comfortable, but more on that in a minute. As you may know, I am an attorney in private family practice. Last month, however, I was appointed by my Town Council to serve as our Interim Town Court Clerk, which is a huge honor for me. In a nutshell, I oversee the Clerk’s Office (8 people) to make sure everything runs smoothly, and that we collect our court costs and fines for three different courts, General Sessions (criminal), Traffic Court and Juvenile Traffic Court. Lately, I have been swamped with budget and will present my department’s budget and capital goals to all department directors and council members, including the mayor, next week.
I love starting my morning on the square if I need to file legal documents. I love to pop in to visit my attorney friends. As you may can see, our square is lined in law offices. You never know who you will run into!

Off to a meeting! One of my favorite aspects about this new position is that I get to meet with a lot of different people, including department directors. One day I may meet with the Finance Director to discuss budget (I have learned a ton about creating and managing large budgets), then one day I may meet with I.T. (they are on my speed dial- I am adamant about using more technology in our office!), another day it could be the HR Director, or, even the Chief of Police. I like being able to interact with all of these key players (or as I like to call them, “movers and shakers”), and am constantly shifting gears- which keeps things interesting! I enjoy seeing the inner workings of the public sector and how all of the different departments work together. It is truly fascinating to me since I have only worked in the private sector.
I love being able to come in and make innovative changes. I have a really great team, and we have already made a lot of positive changes to increase efficiency- and we are just getting started!
But, let’s talk about these gorgeous Rayna slingbacks… saving the best for last! I love, love, love the cactus flower fuchsia shade and unique triangle cutout on the top of the heel. The block kitten heel is perfect for days when I am rushing to meeting after meeting and am on my feet all day, because I don’t even notice I am wearing heels, yet still feel very chic and sophisticated. With that being said, I normally do not wear a lot of heels with straps on the back. It has been my experience in the past that they (the straps) are either: 1) very uncomfortable, or, 2) I can never fasten the tiny hook. These slingbacks are perfect though, and slide on and off my feet so that I never have to unfasten them. Simply put, these Rayna Slingbacks are perfect for spring!

One more thing, this position is an elected position, so I am officially running for office in the upcoming August election to finish the remaining two years of the four year term. I never in a million years thought I would run for office.. Wish me luck!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
